It's Begun…
I’ve just written about 610 words in Fred, Again, my 2005 NaNoWriMo project. You can read what I’ve written so far here. I don’t know much about this novel, but I have figured out the following:
- Fred is a detective who specializes in strange cases, such as those involving advanced weaponry and livestock.
And, uh… that’s about it. I’ve also figured out that the line, “[It] could only be described as one of the worst stampede related laser accidents in the history of the Southwest”, is possibly my favorite so far. It was fun to write.
There are hints that Fred has some sort of bad history involving growing up on a farm, but I don’t know the details yet. I’m sure they’ll show up.
Anyway. If you choose to read it, please do so and enjoy. It is, of course, copyrighted to me, but I’m releasing Fred, Again under a a Creative Commons Attribution / NonCommercial / NoDerivatives license.
In other news, the theme engine I built for my site seems to work fine, as does the little routine I wrote to account for the fact that the server hosting my website lives in a different time zone than I do. My site successfully went from the Halloween theme to the November (NNWM) theme at 12:00 a.m., November 1. The design needs some work, I think. Suggestions are more than welcome.
And now, for bed.
