The 2025 Commitment
Well, I was originally going to call this project “Project 2025”, but now the Heritage Foundation has appropriated that term for their plan to destroy America in cahoots with President Trump. So I’m calling this “The 2025 Commitment”. If you, dear reader, can think of a different title, please let me know.
So, basically, in the year 2025, I’m going to do some sort of creative thing each week, either a short story (including flash), or a poem, or even a drawing. I did this first in 2013 with my “Story of the Week” project. It won’t be as ambitious as Jonathan Coulton’s “Thing of the Week” project that he did back in 2005, mostly because I’m not a musician. However, I do think it will be fun!
And last year for Christmas, I received the Story Engine from a family member, so I’ll be using that for prompts throughout the year. My plan is to post the prompt here to my blog, but I won’t post the resulting creative thing, whatever it is.
Anyway, I’m writing about this here in my blog for accountability’s sake. It’s a commitment. Hold me accountable, Internet.
I think this is a wonderful idea! If you have any Thursday afternoons off, come to the Square One craft space with us at the Woodland Library and make something!
