Today we harvested from our victory garden two potatoes and a cucumber:

It’s neat seeing how some seeds and a bunch of dirt and water can transform into things that we can eat; the seed is a tiny little engine of DNA and other chemicals that do this transformation. It’s going to be a long time human technology can catch up to that sort of thing.

On the other hand, this wouldn’t be nearly enough food to help us survive a zombie apocalypse. Let’s just hope one doesn’t happen soon.
